Our Executive Team

These persons have been duly elected by the Membership of the RHODE ISLAND GUARDIANS ASSOCIATION, to serve as their Executive Committee for the next two years. Committee Chairpersons are appointed by the President, with the advise of the General Membership.

  • In 1977 - John T. Walker installed as the first Black bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Washington
  • In 1935 - Boxer Joe Louis becomes the first Black boxer to draw a million dollar gate
  • In 1957 - President Eisenhower ordered the 101st Airborne to Little Rock, Arkansas — the first federal military protection of civil rights since Reconstruction — so that nine students could attend a public school.
